Meet Miss Ell

Here at Stowe Mission, our volunteers are family.

Ellen Stewart’s journey with Stowe mission began while volunteering with Reynoldsburg Baptist Church monthly in the Community Kitchen.

Seeing the need, she decided to ask our Programs Director about how she could be more involved. Natalie knew that our K-6 After School Program was in need of a cook and Ell was a perfect match! She quickly created relationships with the children, staff, volunteers and families while cooking nutritious meals. You can now find her in our kitchen 4 times a week cooking for “her babies.” and treating everyone she meets as family.

Miss Ell says “I love cooking and serving the others and am so blessed to put my gifts into action. It is a privilege to share God’s love with these children - to encourage, support, and provide positivity in their lives. We never know where God’s plan will lead us, Stepping out of our comfort zone for Christ is a valuable and wonderful experience.”

Block Party Season is here!

We are so excited to share that today, Stowe Mission had our first Block Party of the 2024 Summer!

From April through August, Stowe Mission welcomes community neighbors and their families to enjoy music, games, food and more!

When: The last Tuesday of the month every month
(April 30, May 28, June 25, July 30 & August 27th)

Time: 5pm - 7pm

With a typical headcount of 200-300 people per party, Joshua Shortridge says “These parties are a tangible way to connect with our community, to provide a meal and engage in the lives of those around us.”

We are so grateful to the partners who continuously make these dreams come true with support during set-up, tear-down and more. We can’t wait to celebrate with you all this Summer so come out when you can!
