VBS FAQs
HOW OLD DO CHILDREN NEED TO BE TO ATTEND VBS?
Children must have at least completed kindergarten during the most recent school year. Our oldest class is for children who completed 6th grade during the most recent school year.
MY CHILD HAS FOOD ALLERGIES. HOW WILL THOSE ALLERGIES BE HANDLED?
Please indicate any allergies on your child’s registration form. The children are given a snack each morning, and we provide green grapes as an alternative for those with conflicting allergies. If another alternative is necessary for your child, feel free to leave your preferred snack with your child’s group leader when you drop off your child.
WHAT GROUP OR CLASS WILL MY CHILD BE IN?
All children will be placed in classes based on the grade they completed during the most recently completed school year.

CAN MY CHILD BE IN A GROUP WITH A FRIEND OR A SIBLING?
As much as possible, we try to honor requests for children to be with friends or siblings. However, all our games, crafts and lessons are designed to match the maturity level of each age group. Children will need to participate in separate classes if a large gap (for example, more than one grade) exists between them.
WHAT IS THE COST FOR MY CHILD TO ATTEND VBS?
VBS is 100% free to attend! We do collect an offering each day for a missions project we will be highlighting throughout the week, but contributing to that collection is entirely optional. We will also have VBS music CDs available at a cost of $3 each.
WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD BRING TO VBS?
They really don’t need to bring anything! In fact, it would be best for them to bring as little as possible. They will be moving to different rooms throughout the morning, and unnecessary things can be easily lost.
WHAT TIME SHOULD MY CHILD ARRIVE AT VBS EACH MORNING?
Our opening session starts at 9 am each morning. On Monday, plan to arrive early to allow extra time for check in on the first day. On other days, your child won’t miss anything and will have enough time to check in and settle down if you arrive by 8:55am.
WHERE SHOULD I DROP OFF MY CHILD?
Please park, walk with your child into the building, and take them to their group outside the Sanctuary each day.
WHERE SHOULD I PICK UP MY CHILD?
Please park and come to the Sanctuary to pick up your child. You will receive a Release Form with your child’s name and class each morning when you take your child to his/her group. Whoever picks up your child at the end of the morning (whether you or someone else) must return this form. For the safety of all children entrusted to our care, the child’s form must be presented when he/she is picked up.
WHAT IF ONE PERSON DROPS OFF MY CHILD AND SOMEONE ELSE NEEDS TO PICK UP MY CHILD?
As noted above, a Release Form will be provided to the person who drops off your child. The person who picks up your child will need to bring that Release Form in order to pick up your child.
WILL THERE BE ANY SPECIAL ACTIVITIES IN ADDITION TO THE MORNING VBS?
Yes! We will have a closing celebration on Friday evening, June 21st. Check back for more details.
