Our youth ministry seeks to provide a healthy combination of sound biblical teaching, ministry opportunities in which students can serve, along with other fun activities. In addition to our youth leaders, parents play a pivotal role in our youth ministry. As much as possible, we desire that our youth ministry supplement (not be a substitute for!) the spiritual leadership students receive at home. Details about some of our regular activities are provided below. All adult workers complete a background check prior to working with youth.
Sunday School – Sunday, 9:00 AM
Our Youth Sunday School meets on Sunday mornings in the Annex (the white house south of the main building). This fall we are studying the Countering Culture material to examine various worldviews from a Christian perspective.
Bible Drill is one way we encourage students to know, to use, and to love God’s Word. Through a combination of work and practice during our meeting times and at home, students advance in their ability to locate Bible books and verses, memorize passages of Scripture, and locate specific passages dealing with doctrinal and ethical concerns. Youth Bible Drill meets from October through April on the second floor of the education building. We also offer Children’s Bible Drill.
As part of both our youth and our music ministries, the Youth Choir at RBC periodically participates in our worship services and performs musical dramas. They sing a variety of challenging, exciting, as well as familiar music, and is open to all youth in the 7th through the 12th grades. The Youth Choir meets in the Choir Room.
Acteens is for young ladies in the 7th through 12th grades and includes a special focus on missions. The Acteens meet upstairs in the Annex.
Mission Quest is for young men in the 7th through 12th grades and includes a special focus on missions. Mission Quest meets in the basement of the Annex.
The youth Bible study offers students a time to meet together for Bible study and fellowship. The students typically sing a couple of songs, have a Bible study, and play a couple of games as time permits. Occasionally there might even be some food! The Bible study meets in the Annex.
